The Gangneung City "Urban Information Center" officially opened on Friday, November 15, 2024, and has commenced full-scale operations.

Constructed with a total project cost of 13 billion KRW, the center broke ground in September 2023 and was recently completed. 

The facility spans a total floor area of 2,466m², with a two-story structure housing a control room, exhibition room, server room, multipurpose room, and promotional hall.

As the control tower for traffic (ITS), autonomous driving, environment, crime prevention, disaster management, and CCTV monitoring, 

the Gangneung Urban Information Center plays a critical role in ensuring citizen safety, closely observing the dynamics of the city, and evolving in line with changing environments. 

The center enhances the quality of life for Gangneung citizens and will serve as a key technology tour site 

for the 2026 Gangneung ITS World Congress.

- 1st Floor: Promotional and experience hall featuring VR experiences for Gangneung's road driving and pedestrian scenarios, and a virtual CCTV operator experience

- 2nd Floor: Offices, control room, IT room, and multipurpose meeting room
