On August 26, at the 31st ITS World Congress in Atlanta, Suwon Special City received the Local Government Award.

This award is presented annually by a vote of the ITS World Congress Board of Directors to recognize individuals, local governments, and companies that have advanced ITS.

Suwon was honored for pioneering the introduction of an emergency vehicle priority signal system among local governments, expanding smart transport infrastructure, and the successful hosting of the 2025 Suwon ITS Asia–Pacific Forum.

In other categories, the Hall of Fame was awarded to Mohammed Hikmet (New Zealand), Executive Chairman of HMI Technologies & Ohmio Automation, and the Industry Award went to SAGE Group (Australia).
