ITS Korea Signs MOU with Florida Polytechnic University
Establishing a foundation for joint research and talent development to strengthen Korea–U.S. ITS collaboration

The Intelligent Transport Systems Korea (ITS Korea), led by President Heo Cheong-hoe, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Florida Polytechnic University on November 3, 2025, to promote international cooperation in joint research and talent development in the field of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).
This agreement follows discussions held during the 2025 ITS World Congress in Atlanta, and aims to enhance knowledge sharing between the two countries, strengthen public–private networks, and jointly develop educational programs in the ITS sector.
The MOU signing was conducted online, with Dr. Devin Stephenson, President of Florida Polytechnic University, and Mr. Heo Cheong-hoe, President of ITS Korea, officially signing on behalf of their respective organizations.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will cooperate on:
• Joint research, program development, and technology commercialization
• Co-development of internship, education, and training programs
• Joint organization of workshops, seminars, and academic conferences
Through these initiatives, ITS Korea and Florida Polytechnic University plan to expand knowledge exchange in ITS and offer students hands-on international research experiences, thereby fostering practical technological collaboration.
President Heo stated, “ITS Korea has maintained a close partnership with ITS America, and this new agreement with Florida Polytechnic University marks a meaningful step in expanding our collaboration network into academia.” He added, “We look forward to building a sustainable ecosystem of transportation innovation as Korea and the United States continue to share knowledge and technology in the ITS field.”
