Korea–Malaysia 2025 ITS Roadshow: Advancing Smart Mobility Cooperation

The Korea–Malaysia 2025 ITS Roadshow, held on 9–10 December 2025, concluded successfully, marking a significant step forward in bilateral cooperation on intelligent transport systems (ITS) and smart mobility. Bringing together public authorities, industry leaders, and technology providers from both countries, the Roadshow served as a platform for policy dialogue, technology exchange, and business collaboration.

Strengthening Institutional Collaboration

A key milestone of the Roadshow was the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding between ITS Korea and ITS Malaysia, reaffirming their commitment to advancing bilateral ITS cooperation. The renewed MoU strengthens collaboration in knowledge sharing, policy dialogue, and joint promotion of major international platforms, including the ITS Asia Pacific Forum and the 2026 ITS World Congress in Gangneung, reflecting a shared long-term vision for innovation and partnership.

High-Level Dialogue on Future Mobility

During the two-day Roadshow, the Korea–Malaysia Bilateral ITS Seminar convened approximately 150 stakeholders from government, academia, and industry. Participants exchanged national strategies and discussed emerging mobility trends, with sessions focusing on AI-powered systems, smart tolling, sustainable urban mobility, and next-generation autonomous and V2X technologies. The seminar reinforced mutual understanding and highlighted opportunities for future cooperation.

Driving Business Opportunities

The Roadshow generated tangible industry outcomes through 47 targeted business matching sessions, involving 13 Korean ITS companies and 11 Malaysian counterparts. These meetings facilitated discussions on technical needs and joint project opportunities across tolling systems, smart mobility platforms, EV infrastructure, and autonomous technologies, laying the groundwork for follow-up cooperation between the two markets.

Showcasing Smart Highway Operations

As part of the Roadshow program, PLUS Malaysia hosted a Korean delegation on 10 December at its Traffic Management Centre (TMC), the operational hub supporting safe and efficient highway traffic nationwide. The visit included a briefing and site inspection showcasing emergency response operations, real-time traffic information services, ITS-based monitoring using CCTV and vehicle detection systems, and AI-driven analytics for incident and infrastructure management.
