Gangneung, host of the 2026 ITS World Congress, became Korea's first city to put all its traffic signals online and feed real-time signal data to four major navigation apps (Kakao Navi, TMAP, Hyundai·Kia·Genesis, Naver Map). In a survey with the Korean Society of ITS, over 80% of citizens called the service necessary, and the city said it will keep improving data accuracy ahead of the Congress.
