Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) has begun designating pilot operation zones for urban air mobility (UAM), the base for the country's planned 2028 start of early commercial service, and briefed about 80 local government and public agency officials in Seoul on 13 August. Earlier Korean sites at Goheung and the Ara Waterway only validated core technology such as traffic management, while the new zones will build vertiports, design and clear flight corridors and airspace, and run passenger, cargo and tourism services.
