Korea plans to develop Gangneung into a leading driverless vehicle pilot city, with the government expected to expand support next year beyond the seven autonomous vehicles currently in trial operation there. The plan was announced on 21 August ahead of the ITS World Congress in Gangneung this October, alongside proposals for an AI data center and expanded KTX rail services.
