Gangneung will host the ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) World Congress from October 19–23 at Gangneung Olympic Park — Korea's third time hosting the event after Seoul (1998) and Busan (2010) — with roughly 60,000 total participants expected from about 90 countries. The congress will present a successful ITS model from a mid-sized city of 200,000 residents, where AI-driven real-time traffic signal control has improved traffic efficiency. It will also feature autonomous driving technology exhibits and corporate exhibitions/matchmaking across 434 booths.
