Korea–Malaysia 2025 ITS Roadshow Advanced Smart Mobility Cooperation

The Korea–Malaysia 2025 ITS Roadshow concluded successfully, marked by the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding and the facilitation of 47 business matching sessions between public and private stakeholders. The event served as a meaningful platform to deepen bilateral cooperation by enabling active exchanges of expertise, technology, and policy perspectives in the field of smart mobility. Through these engagements, both countries strengthened mutual understanding and laid the groundwork for practical collaboration on future intelligent transport and mobility projects.

Korea MOLIT and Malaysia MoW Sign Smart Mobility MoU

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea (MOLIT) and the Ministry of Works of Malaysia (MoW) signed an MoU on smart mobility and sustainable infrastructure, covering MLFF tolling, ITS development, and technology sharing in construction and asset management. The framework also supports joint studies and pilot projects, overseen by a director-general–level working committee for effective implementation.

ITS Korea and ITS Malaysia Renew MoU for Stronger ITS Collaboration

The two organizations renewed their MoU to advance bilateral cooperation in ITS development, including knowledge-sharing, policy dialogue, and joint promotion of events like the ITS Asia Pacific  Forum and the 2026 ITS World Congress in Gangneung. The renewal marks a continued commitment to innovation and partnership across the ITS sectors of both countries.

Bilateral ITS Seminar Highlights AI, Smart Tolling, and Sustainable Urban Mobility

The seminar convened 150 ITS stakeholders from Korea and Malaysia to exchange national strategies and cutting-edge mobility technologies. Presentations covered AI-powered tolling, sustainable urban development, and next-generation autonomous and V2X platforms. The event reinforced bilateral cooperation and highlighted future opportunities in the ITS sector.

Korea–Malaysia ITS Roadshow Generates 47 Targeted Business Matchings

A total of 13 Korean ITS companies met with 11 Malaysian counterparts in a series of 47 targeted business matching sessions. Companies exchanged technical needs, explored joint project opportunities, and identified areas for collaboration across tolling, smart mobility platforms, EV infrastructure, and autonomous technologies. The discussions are expected to support tangible follow-up between the 2 markets.

PLUS Malaysia and KEC Advance Smarter, Greener Highways

PLUS Malaysia Berhad and Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC) have formalised a collaborative framework to advance smart mobility solutions, next-generation road technologies, and sustainable expressway development. Building on broader Malaysia–Korea government-level cooperation, the initiative strengthens knowledge exchange and supports the delivery of future-ready, environmentally responsible highway infrastructure.

PLUS Malaysia Hosts Korea Delegation on Smart Highway Operations

On 10 December, PLUS Malaysia received a Korean delegation at its Traffic Management Centre (TMC), the operational hub supporting safe and efficient highway traffic nationwide. The visit featured a briefing and site inspection covering emergency response operations, real-time traffic information services, ITS-based monitoring using CCTV and vehicle detection systems, and AI-enabled analytics for incident and bridge safety management.

Space42, Autonomous A2Z Form JV to Accelerate UAE Autonomous Mobility

At DRIFTx Abu Dhabi 2025, Space42 and South Korea’s Autonomous A2Z announced a joint venture to accelerate Level-4 autonomous driving in the UAE. The partnership will deploy a retrofit-first model for existing fleets, combining AI infrastructure and autonomous expertise to advance safer, more sustainable mobility.

Bucheon Urban Corporation Wins KOICA ODA Project in Morocco

Bucheon Urban Corporation has secured a KOICA ODA project to support the development of an eco-friendly, public transport–oriented mobility system in Rabat, Morocco. Leveraging Korea’s advanced ITS expertise and electric bus infrastructure know-how, the project will strengthen local capacity and promote sustainable urban mobility.

Korean bus ADAS partnership on Bitsensing's radar
Bitsensing has partnered with Korea Wide Group to pilot a radar-based ADAS solution for commercial buses in Daegu. The project will begin with real-world testing on city routes and is set to expand to more than 500 buses nationwide, supporting safer operations and the commercialization of ADAS for bus fleets.

Nota AI to Deliver Smart Intersection Technology for Kenya’s ITS Project

Nota AI has signed a contract to supply its smart intersection system for Nairobi’s ITS project in Kenya. As part of a traffic control center initiative led by KURA and LG CNS, Nota’s lightweight, edge-optimized AI technology will enable real-time traffic analysis directly through on-site CCTV, improving traffic flow while reducing infrastructure and operating costs.

LG Electronics Showcase AI In-Vehicle Platformwith Qualcomm at CES 2026

LG Electronics will showcase a generative AI–based in-vehicle high-performance computing (HPC) solution at CES 2026, developed in collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Elite chipset, the AI Cabin Platform enables real-time, on-device AI processing to deliver smarter, safer, and more immersive in-car experiences.

IL and XYZ Sign MOU on Physical AI–Based Smart Manufacturing and Robotics

IL and XYZ have signed a strategic MOU to collaborate on physical AI–based smart manufacturing and robotic automation. The partnership integrates IL’s semi-humanoid robot platform with XYZ’s AI intelligence software to accelerate real-world validation and commercialization in manufacturing environments.

K-ITS Seminar for International Postgraduate
On November 14th, ITS Korea welcomed more than 40 international graduate students for a comprehensive K-ITS Seminar, providing deep insight into Korea’s ITS landscape and future strategies. Attendees experienced the innovation firsthand through a technical site visit to the Anyang Smart City TMC and the autonomous driving company, A2Z.
  

Gangneung Accelerates Global Outreach for the 2026 ITS World Congress


With the 2026 Gangneung ITS World Congress less than a year away, the Organizing Committee is actively strengthening the event’s global presence through participation in international summits, congresses, and strategic partnerships across the Asia-Pacific region. From high-level engagements in Indonesia and India to the unveiling of the ITS Globe, these efforts underscore the Committee’s commitment to innovation, international cooperation, and global connectivity. Together, they mark a steady and coordinated countdown toward a world-class ITS event in 2026.

With 11 months remaining until the 2026 Gangneung ITS World Congress, Gangneung City participated in the Indonesia International Transport Summit to promote the upcoming event and strengthen international cooperation. Through high-level bilateral meetings and the operation of a promotional booth, it enhanced the Congress’s visibility and expanded engagement with transport stakeholders across the Asia-Pacific region.
