Gangwon State is introducing a region-wide emergency vehicle signal priority system, allowing fire trucks and ambulances to receive uninterrupted green lights across city and county boundaries. The initiative is expected to shorten response times and improve emergency service efficiency.

ITS America Congress 2026

At the 2026 ITS America Annual Meeting in Detroit, Korea promoted its ITS policies, the 2026 Gangneung ITS World Congress, and the APEC Transport Forum while engaging with key U.S. transportation agencies and industry stakeholders. Discussions focused on AI, digital road infrastructure, and V2X technologies, with strong interest expressed in Korea’s ITS Master Plan 2030 and future cooperation opportunities.

ITS Korea and 7ITSNews Co-Host Webinar on AI-Powered Transportation Solutions

On 17 Jun, ITS Korea and 7ITSNews jointly hosted an international webinar bringing together ITS stakeholders from across the Asia-Pacific region to explore the latest applications of artificial intelligence in transportation. The session provided a platform for knowledge exchange on emerging mobility technologies, smart infrastructure, and data-driven traffic management while fostering regional industry collaboration.

• 🇨🇳 Annabell Hua (SUTPC Digital Technology, Singapore) presented AI-driven traffic management solutions leveraging integrated data, digital twins, and connected mobility technologies.
• 🇨🇳 Leo Chen (Shanghai Zemso Technology) introduced AI-enabled smart bus stop solutions designed to improve public transport efficiency and user experience.
• 🇰🇷 Carlos Perez Soriano (Bamboos) showcased AI and digital twin applications for road operations and traffic management.
• 🇰🇷 Jeff Jun (Rexgen) demonstrated AI-based video analytics for traffic monitoring and incident detection.
• 🇰🇷 Sue Park (ITS Korea) presented the 2026 ITS World Congress in Gangneung, highlighting its citywide living-lab vision for future mobility technologies.

S-Traffic won the Best Infrastructure Project at the 2026 CMAA Northern California Project Achievement Awards for its next-generation subway gates project for San Francisco BART. The $50–99 million project highlights its expanding role in overseas smart mobility infrastructure.

Ettifos Targets U.S. V2X Market with Practical Deployment Strategy

At the 2026 ITS America Congress in Detroit, Ettifos presented its U.S. V2X strategy, focusing on real-world deployment rather than future concepts. The company emphasized practical solutions aligned with the operational needs of transportation agencies and deployers.
