2025 ITS Roadshow | Malaysia, Dec 9 🔔

Organizing Committee Launched for Gangneung ITS World Congress

The organizing committee for the 2026 Gangneung ITS World Congress officially launched on Oct 23. The event will take place from Oct 19–23, 2026, at Gangneung Olympic Park with the theme ‘Beyond Mobility, Connected World,’ and is expected to host 200,000 participants from 90 countries.

2025 K-Plugtest Concludes Successfully

ITS Korea completed its 2025 C‑ITS interoperability tests on public roads, involving 20 companies and institutions across Pangyo Zero City and nearby highways. The trials validated V2V, V2I, and V2N services against global standards, demonstrating real-world readiness for connected vehicle deployment.

1,000 ITS Professionals Attended the 2025 Korean Society of ITS Fall Conference

As The 2025 Korean Society of ITS Fall Conference was held in Jeju, over 1,000 experts gathered to explore AI-driven innovations in intelligent transport. 6 special sessions on autonomous driving, carbon neutrality, and sustainable ITS policies were made, highlighting the future direction of mobility technology and governance in Korea.

ITS Korea–Bucheon Launch Living Lab for Carbon-Neutral Mobility

ITS Korea, Bucheon City, and Bucheon Urban Corporation sign MOU to launch a Living Lab for carbon-neutral mobility. The initiative will develop a ‘MyEcoTrip’ app, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and a data-driven platform to reduce transportation emissions, with pilot operations starting in 2027.

ITS Korea Advances ASEAN Standards Cooperation in Smart City and ITS

ITS Korea hosted the 2025 ASEAN-Korea Standards Cooperation Network Workshop on Smart City and ITS from November 3 to 7, bringing together experts from nine ASEAN countries to strengthen standardization cooperation and share best practices in smart mobility. Participants also explored Korea’s advanced ITS technologies through seminars and field visits.

K-ITS during APEC 2025
At the 2025 APEC meetings in Gyeongju held under the theme of "Building a Sustainable Tomorrow", Korean ITS companies took center stage with autonomous shuttles, smart mobility platforms, and cutting-edge LiDAR systems. Delegates experienced how Korea’s intelligent transport technologies are driving safer, greener, and more connected mobility across the Asia-Pacific region.

Autonomous A2ZPresented Self-Driving Shuttles at APEC 
In collaboration with Kia and KG Mobility, Autonomous A2Z operated self-driving shuttles during the APEC meetings in Gyeongju. Deployed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the shuttles showcased Korea’s cutting-edge autonomous driving technology to global leader.
「SOS LabShowcased ‘K-LiDAR’ at APEC

SOSLAB is showcasing its high-precision ML series 3D LiDAR at the APEC 2025 Hallyu Future Industry Pavilion, demonstrating Korea’s cutting-edge autonomous vehicle technology. Optimized for reliability and accuracy, the company is expanding collaborations with global automakers and tech firms, and recently secured KRW 20 billion in contracts for next-generation robot platforms, reinforcing its role in the Physical AI ecosystem.

「Hyundaiand NVIDIA Team Up to Shape the Future of AI Mobility
NVIDIA and Hyundai Motor Group have joined forces to drive AI-powered innovation in autonomous driving, smart factories, and robotics through a Blackwell-based AI factory. Leveraging 50,000 GPUs and a USD 3 billion investment, the partnership will help build Korea’s Physical AI Cluster and strengthen global AI leadership. New AI and data centers will also foster talent exchange and next-generation mobility development.
「HyundaiMotor displays hydrogen vision at APEC CEO Summit

Hyundai Motor Group showcased its renewed hydrogen vision, revealing plans to build a 30,000-cell annual hydrogen-fuel-cell factory in Ulsan by 2027 and roll out 34 new NEXO SUVs for summit use. The company emphasized hydrogen’s role in achieving carbon neutrality and announced a public-private push to build a full hydrogen value chain—from production to logistics—underlining its leadership in the global hydrogen mobility market.

ITS Korea signed a memorandum of understanding with Florida Polytechnic University on November 3, 2025, to promote joint research and talent development in the ITS field. The partnership aims to strengthen Korea–U.S. cooperation through knowledge sharing, education programs, and academic exchanges in smart mobility innovation.

Discussed Future Cooperation with ITS Canada Following MOU 

On October 23, ITS Korea and ITS Canada held a follow-up discussion after their MOU signing to explore new areas of cooperation. Both sides agreed to pursue regular joint thematic webinars and online business matching opportunities between Korean and Canadian ITS industry players.

Participation to ITS India Congress 2025

The Korean delegation, led by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), promoted the 2026 Gangneung ITS World Congress during the ITS India Congress 2025 through exhibition visits, a presentation at the opening ceremony, participation in the PL session on India’s tolling systems, and meetings with local ITS companies to explore collaboration opportunities.

Explored New International Partnership Opportunities

ITS Korea has been actively engaging with global partners to strengthen cooperation in smart mobility and ITS innovation. Recent meetings with international organizations focused on sharing best practices and exploring joint projects in areas such as ODA collaboration, digital mobility, and smart tolling.
